Tennis icon issues huge statement on Coco Gauff's 2024 Wimbledon chances

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova believes Coco Gauff can win a Grand Slam next year, especially at Wimbledon.

Gauff, who recently turned 19, secured her first Grand Slam victory in September at the US Open.

Despite a disappointing Wimbledon in 2023, Navratilova thinks the grass court is well-suited to Gauff's game.

Navratilova points out that world No 1 Iga Swiatek struggles on grass, making Gauff a strong contender for the 2024 Wimbledon title.

Navratilova emphasizes Gauff's skills at the net and her improved drop shot as key factors in her favor.

Gauff made her mark in 2019 by reaching the Wimbledon round-of-16 at just 15 years old.

In the following years, she continued to impress, reaching the Wimbledon round-of-16 again in 2021.

However, Gauff faced a setback in 2023 with her worst Wimbledon run, losing in the first round to Sofia Kenin.

After this defeat, Gauff showed improvement on hard courts, appearing as a more confident player.

Now a Grand Slam champion, Gauff aims to prove Navratilova right by potentially winning Wimbledon in 2024.
